Course Description
Course Goal
To empower learners with the knowledge, skills and strategies necessary to analyse the intersections of gender and climate change, as well as to design and implement inclusive, equitable and effective climate actions that promote gender equality and sustainable community development.
Course Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Analyze at least 3 key intersections between gender and climate change issues and explain how they disproportionately affect women and girls in their local context.
- Identify and explain at least 2 underlying factors contributing to the disproportionate impact of climate change on women and girls in their local context.
- Design a basic gender-responsive plan to address a specific climate change impact in their local context, including at least 2 strategies for implementation.
- Demonstrate an increase in confidence in their leadership skills for climate action and identify at least 2 personal strengths and capacities they can leverage as change-makers.
- Develop a basic collective action plan that prioritizes gender equality and community development and identify at least 2 best practices for effective climate action.
- Share at least 1 example of a successful initiative that addresses climate change through an inclusive and equitable lens, and evaluate its potential for scalability and replication in their local context.
